Ekbijane Gamta Rahiye

Samjan Ek Bijani
Many a times while listening to other’s problems, we find answers for our questions...
Chanakya Niti

Chanakya, also known as Vishnu Gupta or Kautilya, was an Indian professor of political science and economics at Takshashila University in the ancient times. He was a chief advisor to the Mauryan emperor Chandragupta, and later to his son Bindusara. He played a prominent role in the establishment of the Mauryan Empire. He has authored the ancient Indian political dissertation called Arthasastra (Economics).
His works were rediscovered in 1915.
Chanakya Neeti is a result of Chanakya's in-depth study and understanding of the Indian way of life. The book is a set of tenets that spell out the ideal way for an individual to behave and deal with the society around them. He does so by way of Neeti Sutras (originally in Sanskrit), which are short sentences but have a powerful message in them. The book has these Neeti Sutras listed with their relevant English translation and details how they are relevant in today's world. Success is ensured in any aspect of life if these tenets are followed by a person.
While reading this book, one comes across many messages such as, a wise son is always better than hundreds of foolish ones, and the primary duty of all parents is to provide their child with the best possible education they can afford. Chanakya Neeti is a useful guide even in the present times, showing an individual the ideal way of living in relation to their family, society and country. It also goes on to explain the concept of Karma and the laws around it. It also states that Dharma is the only thing that is permanent in this world and lists the many vices that one should keep away from to lead a happy and satisfying life.
The Immortals of Meluha

The land of Meluha is an empire created by Lord Rama, and it is ruled by the Suryavanshis. This empire is powerful and proud, however, the Saraswati river that is their source of water is slowing drying up. On top of that, the empire is at war with the Chandravanshis who have allied with The Nagas, a group of sinister and deformed human beings who have extraordinary martial art skills.
The Immortals Of Meluha, published in 2010, is the first story of the trilogy. Daksha, the king of the Suryavanshis, realizes that his empire needs help. He invites a tribe from Tibet to help him fight off the enemies. The Tibetan Guna tribe is lead by Shiva, who is a fearless soldier, and the only one who does not fall ill on arriving at Meluha. To everyone's surprise, Shiva’s throat turns blue.
The locals believe that this warrior is their fabled saviour Lord Shiva, also known as Neelkanth. Shiva goes to Devagiri to meet Daksha and his daughter Princess Sati. There, he learns about the dangerous wars and terror attacks that the Chandravanshis have carried out on the Meluhans.
The brave warrior gets enraged, and declares a full war on the enemy. Readers will find this mythological fantasy to be gripping and exciting. Questions about Shiva’s duty, destiny, and karma arise throughout the book. The author has written a book that is adventurous, mystifying, and captivating, but at the same time he also has thrown light onto the subjects of what is evil, and who is truly a hero.
This page-turner is a treat for readers who enjoy history, fantasy, and adventure. The Immortals Of Meluha received good reviews from leading newspapers, and was a bestseller within its first week of release.
The Secret of Nagas

The Shiva Trilogy is a series built around characters that are based loosely on those from Indian mythology and the Hindu Panthe on.

In the first book, The Immortals of Meluha, Shiva is a Tibetan tribal chief who is brought to the country of Meluha to save the people from their enemies. The Secret of The Nagas picks up from that point, where the first book ended.

Shiva’s wife Sati is stalked by the Nagas, who are a group of people forced to live in isolation because of their physical deformities. Shiva also holds the Nagas to be responsible for the death of his friend Brihaspathi of Meluha. He sets out to find the Nagas and avenge the death of his friend.

Shiva and Sati travel to Kashi. They locate a community of Brangas who they feel can tell them about the Nagas. Shiva prepares to sail to the land of the Brangas while Sati decides to stay on in Kashi.

In the course of the story, Sati learns a few secrets about herself and her family. She also gives birth to Karthik, her younger son. Shiva and Sati are temporarily estranged for various reasons. They learn the true identities of the Nagas who were stalking Sati, and the person responsible for the murder of Sati’s first husband.

The final part of the story deals with Shiva’s journey to Panchvati, the Naga Capital.

The real story begins in their last year at the Institute when having moved past all of the other person’s idiosyncrasies, the two are resolved to tie their love through the bond of marriage. However, they aren’t the only ones involved in this decision and although they are in love, there is the question of their families. With the parents not accepting their love, Ananya is sent off to meet Tamil Brahmin boys while Krish is sent off to meet respectable Punjabi girls. However, Krish cannot forget Ananya and is the same with her and he embarks on a quest to win over her family to finally marry her.
Through a number of amusing and misfortunate clashes, the families disapprove of this union due to their cultural and ethnic differences. The magic that is Bhagat’s gift in storytelling is his use of humor and candor and he employs these devices to full use in this story where the North-South polarities provide generous comedic effect. Narrated from Krish’s point of view, a first person narrative, 2 States: The Story Of My Marriage is an infectiously lighthearted read that digs at the ethnic gap between Indian communities. The rights of the book have been sold to producer Nadiadwala who is adapting the warm tale for the big screen.

The Grate Gatsby
The plot, set in the summer of 1922, is narrated by Nick Carraway, a World War I veteran and a Yale graduate. Nick moves from Minnesota to an affluent neighborhood in West Egg on Long Island, and intends to settle down to a quiet life, selling bonds in New York. Just when he thinks that he has left the complexity of life behind him, he receives an invitation to a social party from his mysterious billionaire neighbour. This changes and alters his perception of life. Nick’s neighbour, Jay Gatsby, lives in huge gothic mansion surrounded by immaculately kept lawns. Not much is known about Gatsby, except that he throws lavish parties on a regular basis, and knows how to impress his guests. But is he really going all out just to impress the fickle-minded socialites of Long Island and New York, or is there an ulterior motive behind the irrational and reckless display of wealth?
The Buchanans live across from Gatsby in East Egg. Unknown to everyone, Daisy and Gatsby were once in love, before the war tore them apart. While Gatsby went to fight in the war, Daisy married Tom, a former football star. As fate would have it, Nick turns out to be Daisy’s cousin, and this vital detail draws him into a fatal love triangle that exposes him to the frailties of human relationships. The novel, through Gatsby’s tragic pursuit of his dream, captures the moral breakdown of a society obsessed with status and wealth, and the post-war American disillusion. For all his wealth and social status, can Gatsby manage to win back his lost love? This book answers this question and more.
